To kick off their North American tour, worldwide superstars BTS (Bangtan Boys) made headlines with their sold out Love Yourself 2018 Concert in Los Angeles, taking over Southern California for four spectacular nights. Tickets for the LA concerts were sold out minutes after being released, and many loyal fans camped out in front of Staples Center nights before the show to see their idols up close on stage.
According to several media outlets and fan testimonies, the 7-member boy band also hired sign language interpreters to translate their songs during the concert for deaf fans. This gesture touched many ARMYs, the group’s fan base, who already considered the group to be not only down-to-earth and humble, but also a source of huge inspiration and comfort to those who listened to the messages in their songs.
After finishing their last California concert this Wednesday 9/12 in Oakland, the band will continue their North American leg of the tour in other parts of the U.S. BTS will be the first ever Korean act to perform a stadium show. On October 6th, following after superstar artists like Beyonce, Paul McCartney, and Lady Gaga, the K-pop sensation will be performing at the prestigious Citi Field in New York. This stadium, advertised to have 40,000 tickets available, had seats sold out within a matter of 20 minutes for the BTS World Tour: Love Yourself show. On top of being the first Korean act to accomplish this achievement, the boys are also the first K-pop act to reach number one on the Billboard 200 albums chart and also top the chart for Billboard Artist 100.
