KORE X SORA GIL
SORA GIL (길소라)
Sora Gil, also known as @sora_gil on Instagram, is a talented artist based in Seoul, South Korea. In 2014, she debuted her work at the WHO? Gallery in Opium Studio located in Shinchon, Seoul. Shortly after, she was asked to hold her first private gallery at Proud Cafe in Incheon, Seoul. After receiving much love and recognition for her work, Sora worked on the album jackets of many music producers. She is most known for her talented renditions of line art, a unique form of art that uses strong and sharp, yet detailed and delicate lines to create a dynamic impression that the art is moving.
In a recent collaboration with KORELIMITED, Sora recreated the company logo by incorporating her line art technique. She used detailed moving lines in each letter, including the yin and yang symbol of the taegeuk mark. In another piece, she portrayed a young beautiful lady in a hanbok with mu goong hwa (Korea's national flower) displayed in the background. Through her unique style of art, Sora displayed traditional traits of Korean culture while giving a modern impression of the image overall. KORELIMITED will be releasing "Girl in Hanbok" in the Spring 2016 Collection.
